There are times when you want to send document from programs like word, excel, etc directly to an email client and compose an email with it. This is what MAPI is for and how you can set it up in Mailbird.
Normally, once you set Mailbird as a default email client in settings>advanced, MAPI will automatically be assigned to Mailbird. But sometimes things might go wrong, not to worry because this is how you can set MAPI to Mailbird manually
- Click your windows button at the bottom left of your screen or press the windows button on your keyboard, type "default program" and press enter
- Click "associate a file type or protocol with a program"
- Search for .mapi (send mail) protocol Click the change programs as depicted in the screenshot above and set it to Mailbird.
You can now send documents straight from Excel, Word, etc to Maibird. If you are still having issue with MAPI, please send an email to email@example.com
