Known issue: updating from version 2.9.43 or lower
After updating Mailbird, there may be unfortunately be some cases where Mailbird users may find themselves unable to use Mailbird, as it fails to load due to problems with missing files.
This is a known issue with the Mailbird installer from version 2.9.43 or lower.
Some files are being incorrectly deleted following the update, and this is causing Mailbird to not start.
If you updated Mailbird from version 2.9.43 (or lower) by using the manual updater, you will most likely encounter this issue unfortunately.
To fix this issue, simply download and repair the installation using the latest version of the Mailbird MSI Installer. You can get the MSI installer by clicking on the link below:

Known issue: CefSharp.Core.Runtime error
Another issue would be because of the incompatible CefSharp.Core.Runtime version. This is normally caused by an older version of VC++ being present on the device where Mailbird is installed.
We are confident that by downloading one of these two VC Redistributable packages, your problem will be resolved conclusively. It is important that you download the correct package depending on which version of Windows you are running (32-bit or 64-bit). For your convenience, I am including each package below, so that you may download the correct one:
Afterwards, please restart your PC to complete VC++ packages installation, and update Mailbird once the VC++ installation has been fully completed. This should then hopefully resolve the issue which you have been encountering, and you should now be able to user the latest version of Mailbird without further issues.
If this does not work however, then please let us know immediately so that we are made aware of this.
In the event of the VC Redistributable update not yielding the desired outcome, we suggest rolling back to a previous version of Mailbird (as a temporary measure), and we will provide you with the most appropriate version to you when you get in touch with us to report to us that the VC++ update has not succeeded in resolving your problem.
However, before you roll back to a previous version of Mailbird, we advise you to create a backup of all your emails and settings in Mailbird just to be on the safe side. To do this:
- Open your Windows File Explorer
- Go to C:\Users\"your user name"\AppData\Local and make a copy of the Local folder
- Save it in a safe location (such as your computer's desktop).
Please make sure that the Mailbird application is CLOSED at the time of copying these files.
As always, if you have any questions or concerns about how to carry out these steps, we will be delighted to assist you with anything at all by reaching out to us via our
