The answer to this question depends on which kind of email protocol you are using for your email account(s). If you would like to find out with certainty whether you have an IMAP or a POP3 email account, please click here to receive additional guidance before proceeding.
If your email account uses IMAP, then deleting an email in Mailbird will also delete it on your email server or webmail (e.g. Gmail, Hotmail, etc.).
However, if your email account uses POP3, then it will depend entirely on your settings. If you have configured Mailbird to leave a copy of your emails on your server, then deleting an email in Mailbird will not delete it in your webmail.
If you set Mailbird to not to leave a copy of an email on the server, then deleting an email will delete it forever. Please refer to the image below which shows where this setting is present in Mailbird.
If you aren't sure whether or not an email will be permanently deleted before you click on the Delete icon, feel free to contact our Customer Happiness Team by clicking here - we'll do our best to provide you with all the necessary guidance before you delete an email.
