In this article we will look at how Mailbird checks for new emails, without the need for you to take any action whatsoever.

Mailbird uses 'push' technology for your Inbox, which means that whenever a new email is received by your email server, then your Inbox will automatically update itself and the email will also be visible in Mailbird within a handful of seconds.

But what about the other folder besides your Inbox? For all other folders (such as for your Sent folder), Mailbird will refresh each of these every 60 minutes.

If you experience any errors in Mailbird, and your Inbox is not automatically synchronizing with your email server, then you can refresh your Inbox and other folders manually. There are 2 ways to do this:

  • Press F5 on your keyboard
  •  Click on the sync button (as shown below).
