📬 Managing Multiple Email Accounts in Mailbird

Mailbird makes it easy to manage multiple email accounts and identities from one convenient location. Whether you're adding your first account or setting up custom identities, this guide will walk you through each step.

🔗 Connecting Your Email Accounts

One of the best things about using an all-in-one communication app like Mailbird is how simple it is to connect your email accounts. Follow these simple steps to get started:

  1. Open the Mailbird menu in the top-left corner (the three horizontal lines).

  2. Click on Settings.

  3. Navigate to the Accounts tab.

  4. Click on Add to connect a new email account.

  5. Enter your email credentials in the fields provided.

Once added, your email accounts will appear in the Accounts tab. If this is your first time you're setting up Mailbird, then this section will have previously been blank.

In most cases, Mailbird will automatically detect your IMAP and SMTP settings, so you won’t need to configure them manually. However, if needed, you can follow this guide to enter them yourself.

🧑‍💼 Setting Up Email Identities

Mailbird also allows you to create email identities. These work like alias email addresses, allowing you to send emails from different email addresses while using a single inbox. Here's how to set them up:

  1. Open the Mailbird menu in the top-left corner.

  2. Click on Settings.

  3. Navigate to the Identities tab.

  4. Click on Add to create a new identity.

🧪 Testing Your Identity Settings

To ensure your identity settings are configured correctly, you can test the connection. Here's how:

  1. Click on the identity you would like to test.

  2. Click on Edit.

  3. Click Test Connection at the bottom of the window.

💡 Tip: If there are any issues, Mailbird will display error messages that can help you understand what requires your attention, or provides you with useful information to share with our Support team.

🚀 You're All Set!

You’re now fully set up to send and receive emails in Mailbird using multiple accounts and identities!

Whether you’re managing personal, work, or other email addresses, Mailbird keeps everything organized in one place. Switching between accounts or identities is quick and seamless: simply select the desired sender address from the drop-down menu when composing a new email.

This allows you to maintain clear boundaries between different email identities, while enjoying a unified and efficient email experience.
