In this article, we will examine some of the reasons why customers who use Yahoo, AOL, AT&T or Verizon might encounter difficulties when attempting to sync their inboxes in Mailbird.
It's important to not that Yahoo/AOL/AT&T and Verizon all use Yahoo's internal servers.
Yahoo's servers are set to offer a very low limit of connections per email account across all devices (as little as 3). By comparison, Google has a limit of 15 connections. For more information on what the number of connections actually means, please click here to read our other article which explains this in more detail.
Unfortunately, this is entirely beyond our control, since Mailbird cannot alter in any way the limit imposed by any email provider.
Instead the only solution is to reduce the number of devices and connections which Mailbird uses to connect to your email accounts, and you can do this by following the steps outlined below:
- Open the Mailbird menu in the top lefthand corner (i.e. the three horizontal lines).
- Click on Settings.
- Navigate to the Accounts tab, and then double-click on the affected email account.
- At the bottom of the menu, you will see a connections slider. Set this to 2.
- If this does not improve things, then please set it to 1.
