In order to export POP3 and IMAP accounts from Mailbird, we have created an Export Tool which does precisely that. The tool can export to an .eml file or directly to an IMAP server of your choice.
Generally, we recommend exporting to an .eml file, simply because it's much faster. However, we also strongly suggest backing up your Mailbird database before proceeding with an export, so to find out how you can do this before moving forward, you can refer to this other helpful article.
- Begin by downloading the Export Tool to your device by clicking here.
- After you download the Export Tool, extract the zip file and run the MailbirdBackupTool.exe file.
- Once you have launched the .exe. file, you will be able to begin the process of exporting your data.
- Below is an example of what the Export Tool will look like.
-
Choose the email account that you wish to export from the options you are shown
- Don't forget to select whether you would like to upload the exported data directly onto a server, or to save it as an .eml file.
- If you have chosen to upload the data to a server, enter your email server details and then click on Next>.
- You can skip this step if you would like to export the data to an .eml file.
- If you have opted to save your emails as an .eml file, select the location where you would like the file to be saved on your computer.
- Lastly, wait until all emails have been exported for the process to be completed.
