📤 Introduction
To export emails from your POP3 or IMAP accounts in Mailbird, you can use our Export Tool, which is specifically designed for this purpose.
The tool allows you to:
- Export emails to .eml files
- Upload emails directly to an IMAP server
💡 Recommendation
We generally recommend exporting to .eml files, as this method is significantly faster and more reliable.
⚠️ Before You Begin
Before starting the export process, we strongly recommend backing up your Mailbird database to prevent any potential data loss. Please refer to our backup guide here for step-by-step instructions before proceeding.
⬇️ Download and Launch the Export Tool
- Download the Export Tool to your device from here.
- Extract the downloaded .zip file.
- Run the file MailbirdBackupTool.exe.
Once launched, you’ll see the Export Tool interface and can begin the process.
👤 Step 1: Select the Email Account
- Choose the email account you want to export.
- Select your preferred export method:
- Export to .eml file
- Upload to IMAP server
☁️ Step 2 (Optional): Upload to IMAP Server
If you chose to upload your emails to a server:
- Enter your email server details.
- Click Next > to continue.
👉 You can skip this step if you selected the .eml export option.
💾 Step 3: Export to .eml File
If you chose to export as .eml files:
- Select the destination folder on your computer.
- Confirm your selection to proceed.
⏳ Step 4: Complete the Export
- Wait for the process to finish.
- Export time will depend on the size of your mailbox.
Once completed, your emails will be available in your chosen format or location.
