I had not installed Mailbird in the default drectory, rather on the SD card of my laptop on windows 8.1. But now the program is not showing in the programs list in the c'control panel>program and features>uninstall' list. The other option mentioned above of typing 'rundll32.exe dfshim.dll,ShArpMaintain Mailbird.application, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=5ab9151dbc1ae0f0, processorArchitecture=x86' on the run dialogue box is also not working as it gives me the message that 'Uninstall of application not succeeded, see details'. When I click on details I mostly see entries which say that the program is not installed.

Need your help to uninstall the program completely as it currently does not meet my requirements

Try to uninstall from command line:

    • Open command line by running "cmd.exe" command (*Windows Key* + R to open the 'Run' window, or find it in the start menu)

    - Type this in command line and press enter: msiexec.exe /x {4E757DEB-ED12-4A25-AA23-DEBF91B6C4CF}

I follow the instructions above and I got this pop up message:

"There is a problem with this window installer package. A program required for this install to complete could not be run. Contact your support personnel or package vendor".

    Help!

I’d suggest you to do a System File Checker (SFC) scan on your computer. SFC tool scans system files and replaces incorrect versions of the system files by using the correct versions.

To run the System File Checker tool, follow these steps:

    1. Click Start, and then type cmd in the Start Search box.

    2. Right-click cmd in the Programs list, and then click Run as administrator. If you are prompted for an administrator password or confirmation, type your password or click Continue.

    3. At the command prompt, the following line, and then press ENTER:

       sfc /scannow

Check the below link for details:

How to use the System File Checker tool to troubleshoot missing or corrupted system files on Windows Vista or on Windows 7

    Hi Henrik

We are very sorry, there was a technical  issue in our download page, it gave the old installer.

We have fixed the download page, so it gives you the right installer.

Please uninstall your Mailbird from control panel > programs and features and reinstall by downloading the fixed installer in our website.

    Good Day, dear support)

sorry, if my language isnt quite right, because english isnt my native one. but i'll try to explain my problem and hope, u help me in solving it.

So,right after setup, my mailbird wasnt working properly: i could enter the name of mail reciever, the theme, but i could type nothing into the main text input area.

At first, i had blamed my antivirus for blocking something about mailbird until i discovered that it only blocked some browser supporting feature.

So, i tried to uninstall mailbird and had an error:

"There is a problem with this window installer package. A program required for this install to complete could not be run. Contact your support personnel or package vendor".

I tried to manually clear User\Appdata folders, deleting the main installation folder and it gave no result.

By the way, MailBirdInstaller has no Repair function. and even after deleting the mentioned folders, it says like: Mailbird is already installed! Go ahead! use it!

thats not a problem that u cant neither delete it nor install!

so, im begging: please, give me the full list of all the files and their directories, which i should clear in order to get program completely deleted.

Including the directory of where the MailbirdInstaller was downloading setup files.

    Hi Svorovskyi

If you want to delete Mailbird manually, you need to clear these folders:

    - AppData/Local/Mailbird

    - Mailbird installation folder (default is in C:\Program Files (x86)/Mailbird/ or C:\Program Files/Mailbird/)

You will also need to delete Mailbird registry keys on your computer.

    1. Please use regedit.exe to delete the leftover Mailbird registry keys. How to start regedit.exe:
    2. Click on the "Start" button, and then click on "Run."
    3. In the dialog box that appears, type "regedit" into the text box, and then click the "OK" button.

    4. After it's open, navigate through these branches on the left and use Edit/Find to search 'Mailbird'. it will be under some folder like '{012345-67890-ABCDEF}'.

    5. (For 32 bit computer) HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall

    6. (For 64 bit computer) HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall

    7. Remove this 'folder':

    8. (For 32 bit computer) HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Mailbird

    9. (For 64 bit computer) HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Mailbird

We apologize for your inconvenience, we are now enabling the repair function in the upcoming installer.

When trying to uninstall I get this message "There is a problem with this Windows Installer package. A program required for this install to complete could not be run. Contact your support personnel or package vendor".

    Mailbird still loads ok.

I'm on Windows 10 x64. Using Mailbird 2.1.14.0. License says " 2 days remaining of your Pro Trial. After the trial enxds, Mailbird Pro will convert to Mailbird Lite".

Reason for uninstall: Search doesnt work as expected. I click on 'all items' and search for something. It doesn't search all items.. I don't know what it does. Seems to search only recent items or something. Also - you have no choice on ordering your view (by date, subject etc) - its latest mail at top and that's it.

I will try manual uninstall now.

Got Mailbird, was impressed until I realized that one of most basic of email clients is completely missing from this glitzy and overreaching product. There are no options for filters/mail rules to automatically sort incoming email. This is a very important thing to me as I use multiple accounts with multiple sorts needed for each. I will not begrudge the company the $12 I paid for the product because I guess I should have looked before I leaped, so to speak. What my current concern is it will not uninstall. Not with windows 10 regular method, not with the cmd line listed above. Is this program malicious? I hardly think so, but I'm certainly losing patience with this shit.

Advice: Get the basics right, THEN add the other layers. Impressive product so far other than listed above. Unfortunately I'll be going back to another program ASAP.

Dave, one of the ways you can work around this is to setup your email service at a provider that supports 'address tags'.

For example, I create an IMAP folder called 'news', then I sign up for all my newsletters with the address seth+news@domain.tld. When an incoming email arrives for this address special address, it's automatically sorted into my 'news' imap folder.

I am running windows 10  I have tried repeatedly to uninstall mailbird.  I have followed all you suggestions listed above.  When I ran the system file checker tool, I get Windows Resource Protection did not find any integrity violations.

I have reinstalled and then tried to uninstall it several times using several methods.

     I continue to get

There is a problem with this window installer package. A program required for this install to complete could not be run. Contact your support personnel or package vendor".  When I uninstall throught the system settings.

When I try to uninstall from the command prompt, I get the message that you can only uninstall programs that are installed.

Your application is starting to look a lot more like malware than a mail client app.  How exactly do I remove your product from my computer?

Bernadette, trying installing Revo Uninstaller and running that. I use it to nuke all my unwanted programs and it removes a lot of the registry garbage that is often left behind.

I had the same issues as previous "temporary" users. When the W10 uninstaller couldn't move it, I went looking for a way to get rid of it. Thanks to Kevin Tea's suggestion. Revo made short order of this pathetic excuse of a mail client. On my machine, it didn't show a single embedded email image! The Microsoft native W10 email client, bad as it is, at least, shows me the entire email. Go back to work guys.

I cannot uninstall mailbird from Windows 10.  It says that some component of install is missing and askes me to contact the program agent.

Nothing seemed to work until I followed Kevin's advice and gave MailBird the Revo Uninstaller treatment!

I just installed Mailbird Lite to try it. It seriously overheated my Surface Pro 3 tablet, using 35-45% cpu and totally draining the battery. I immediately then tried to uninstall the junk, and I get the same message about windows being unable to uninstalll due to the package being corrupt...

** Please add a user-configurable filter feature to MailBird. **

Thunderbird had this for years, yet you lack it completely, even though you advertise easy switchover from Thunderbird online (and that's why I use MailBird now).

I don't want workarounds, I want a real filter feature.
