Introduction
Mailbird is proud to announce that it is now possible to use Sapling's free, powerful, AI-powered writing assistant. Sapling offers a truly cutting-edge product which integrates seamlessly with Mailbird, allowing any Mailbird customer who has purchased one of our licenses to benefit from Sapling's technology without any additional cost - this means that the integration is not available to any Mailbird customers who are currently using the Free version of Mailbird.
Sapling's free offering covers spelling and grammatical mistakes spanning a couple of words, while their premium offering covers longer, more complex grammatical issues.
Sapling's paid subscriptions even provide customizable proof reading settings which go beyond regular spelling and grammar checking, as well as a powerful AI detector. However, by activating Sapling's integration in Mailbird, you can start benefitting from its Basic suggestions for spelling and grammar while composing emails with Mailbird.
Activating Sapling
We will now explain how you can easily activate this fantastic new integration in order to start using Sapling's Basic suggestions inside Mailbird right away.
Please note that if you enable Sapling's integration, then Mailbird's native spellchecker will be disabled, so if you prefer using Mailbird's own spellchecker, you must first disable Sapling's integration. Additionally, if you previously had Grammarly enabled before it was discontinued (by Grammarly - see here), then Sapling will be enabled by default. |
- First, head to the Apps menu in Mailbird by clicking on the nine dots located in the bottom lefthand corner of the interface.
- Once you have accessed the Apps menu, simply type Sapling into the search field, and make sure that you apply a checkmark next to the box where Sapling is now listed, as shown below.
- Once you have enabled the Sapling app, you will see its icon appear down the lefthand side of Mailbird, alongside any other apps which you have already enabled. This confirms that it has been successfully added as an integration in Mailbird.
Now that you have enabled the Sapling integration in Mailbird, you can benefit immediately from its Basic suggestions when composing emails in Mailbird.
Using Sapling
Now, we will look at an example of an email which contains a typo - you will notice two things:
- Firstly, Sapling has detected a typo by underlining the incorrect word - if you move your mouse over the incorrect word, Sapling will now display both a suggested alternative, and the option to ignore its suggestion.
- You will also notice a dot on the righthand side of the Compose window - if you hover your mouse over this dot, Sapling will display a range of information on whatever text you have typed into the Compose window so far, as shown below.
- Please note that the Advanced Edits Shown toggle is only available to Sapling Pro users.
